How to Compare Window-Treatment Quotes
Compare the same finished job.
Turn two totals into a clear, opening-by-opening comparison.
The lowest total is only meaningful when the proposals cover the same products, openings, controls and installation work. Build a simple comparison sheet before deciding which quote offers the better fit.

Use one row per opening
01 · Identify the room and opening
Match each quote to the same window or door. Use a photo or room label so similar openings are not confused.
02 · Record the complete product
Include collection, material or fabric, color, opacity, mount and ordered dimensions.
03 · List controls and accessories
Separate motors, remotes, hubs, chargers, light-management parts and decorative hardware where applicable.
04 · List installation responsibilities
Identify measuring, removal, disposal, attachment, setup, cleanup and any excluded repair work.
Two costs that can disappear in a headline
Getting it installed
Ask who confirms final dimensions and what happens if the product does not fit. Clarify which site conditions can change the price.
Getting help later
Identify the service contact and the written warranty. Ask which costs are covered and which may remain yours; do not infer coverage from a headline term.
Mark unknowns instead of guessing
Write “not specified” when a proposal leaves something out. Send the same short clarification list to each supplier yourself. A missing line is not automatically included, excluded or evidence of poor quality; it is a question to resolve before comparing totals.
Before paying a deposit
Should a Norman collection name be enough?
No. A collection can have multiple fabrics, finishes, controls and configurations. Match the actual items.
What records should I keep?
Keep the accepted proposal, product selections, measurements responsibility, payment terms, care instructions and warranty documents together.
