EDITORIAL STANDARDS

Trust is built one accurate answer at a time.

Our standard is simple: information should be useful enough to stand on its own, specific enough to guide a real decision, and transparent about the experience and relationships behind it.

01

OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Answer the homeowner—not the algorithm.

Windows Direct University publishes information to help consumers make informed decisions about replacement windows. A page is not successful merely because it attracts traffic, mentions a product, or creates an inquiry. It succeeds when the reader understands the issue better.

HOW A GUIDE IS MADE

From a real question to a reviewed answer.

01

Define the question.

We identify what the consumer is actually trying to understand and keep the page focused on that need.

02

Gather experience and evidence.

We combine relevant field experience with original standards, technical documents, codes, and research when needed.

03

Explain the variables.

We separate universal principles from conditions that depend on climate, product, opening, installation, or priorities.

04

Review it as a human.

A qualified person checks accuracy, completeness, usefulness, clarity, disclosures, and the practical next step.

02

First-hand experience

We prioritize knowledge gained from real measuring, installation, service, troubleshooting, product evaluation, and homeowner conversations. Experience helps us explain how technical information affects an actual home.

03

Sources

When a guide relies on a standard, rating, regulation, study, or product specification, we prefer the original source: government agencies, codes, recognized testing organizations, standards bodies, peer-reviewed research, and manufacturer technical documents.

04

AI-assisted work

AI may assist with organization, research discovery, editing, transcription, and early drafting. AI output is not a source and is never treated as proof. No substantial guide should be published without meaningful human review.

05

Products, companies, and pricing

We explain the criteria that matter instead of declaring a universal winner. Pricing content identifies what is included, when it was prepared, the relevant geography, and the variables that can materially change the result.

06

Corrections and updates

We correct substantive errors and review pages when standards, codes, products, sources, or field experience materially change. An updated date reflects a meaningful review—not a cosmetic edit intended to make old information look new.

OUR CONNECTION

Experience from Windows Direct Utah strengthens the University.

Windows Direct Utah is the proven local operation behind much of the University’s practical experience. That connection gives our education real context—and we state it proudly.

When a product, company, referral, or commercial relationship could affect how a reader interprets an answer, we provide the relevant disclosure in clear, ordinary language.

REGIONAL INTEGRITY

Local pages must contain local value.

We do not create substantially identical city pages merely to capture search traffic. Regional guidance must reflect genuine differences in climate, solar exposure, architecture, codes, products, installation practice, or real service availability.

That protects consumers, strengthens the University’s authority, and creates a credible foundation for future Windows Direct metro locations.

THE STANDARD THAT MATTERS MOST

Would this answer genuinely help the homeowner in front of us?

If the answer is no, the page is not ready.
