Home Office Window Treatments
Keep the daylight. Control the distraction.
Plan shades around your screen, camera and working hours.
Start with the desk position and the times when light causes trouble. A home-office treatment should support screen visibility, comfortable daylight and privacy. The darkest fabric is not automatically the most useful working solution.

Run a workday test
01 · Sit in the usual position
Look for reflections on the screen and direct light in your eyes. Note the time and which window causes it.
02 · Check the camera view
Start a camera preview. A bright window behind you can create a different problem from glare on the monitor.
03 · Try a small room change
Consider a desk or screen adjustment before committing the entire room to a darker treatment.
04 · Test a fabric sample
Compare the selected sample at the difficult time of day, then check the room with the shade raised.
Choose the control you will use
Manual operation
Try the reach from the desk area and the effort of daily adjustment. A treatment behind equipment may be awkward even if it works perfectly.
Motorized operation
Ask whether the exact product and controls support your intended routine. Confirm power, service access and operation when a network is unavailable.
Norman products to compare
Use Soluna Roller as one clean-fabric starting point, and compare it with other treatment types where privacy or room design calls for them. Request the actual fabric and opacity rather than assuming the collection name establishes glare control.
Make the quote solve your problem
Do I need blackout?
Only if that level of light control matches your use. Explain the problem first; ask the supplier to justify the proposed opacity.
What should I photograph?
The window, screen location, nearby controls and the room during the problematic light. Avoid sharing sensitive material visible on your monitor.
